Subvergence Net Art Series. Subvergence scrambles icons off the internet: gifs and jpegs,. numbers, financial information, source codes. The langauage of the internet

The image is transformed, subverted and re-approprated into interactive collages. Financial data become mush, texts become scrambled, html becomes jargon. It all becomes hard to read.. The internet has become the the leading economic and artistic tool for our age. Words like emergence are used to explain the propulsion of these medias into our daily lives.

The screens are layered with multiple sounds and a multi-layered labyrinth uses data from our computers. You can move about the top half and click through and rotate around this space. Hidden areas and sounds as well as spoken texts open up more pages scrambling technologies and ideas. Some areas also use the speech recognition which needs the downloaded plug in.

This was developed into a full working software system called Subfusion.

History. The first version went net art online in 2000. NB: as off 2021 they are no longer online as they are made using shockwave. Watch the videos below.

Curators please ask for the software files if you want to exhibit them. Available for sale and for exhibition. A touch screen limited edition artwork is for sale. This is custom bespoke software.
