Freedom Under a Microscope Of Impossible Resolution. 2005

This generative net artwork remediates hundreds of live images from CCTV cameras and networked webcams around the world. Using customised software, these images are continuously collected, recombined and transformed into an evolving digital painting. The work operates in real time, producing constantly changing compositions that are never repeated, offering a shifting portrait of global urban life.

Exhibition: Available as a gallery installation presented as a triptych across three 42-inch plasma screens or three projections. The original online version requires legacy Shockwave technology; a video example is available.

Availability: Signed edition of three, including bespoke software and source code.
