THE FATHER SON AND THE HOLY GHOST 2003

Crash Sites is an online generative artwork by Stanza that uses images sourced through Google searches for crash-related terms. Using a custom-made software system, the work draws on images circulating across the internet, transforming them into a continuously evolving digital composition.

The artwork explores the internet as an ever-expanding archive of events, incidents and visual information. By bringing together images of crash sites through an automated process, it examines how digital systems collect, organise and present images, and how meaning emerges from the accumulation and repetition of visual evidence.

The work exists as a software-based artwork, comprising a bespoke system and its associated computer files.
